Here is a new scam for the new year.  Email pretending to be from a lawyer searching for relatives of the dearly departed.  Millions at stake, better hurry before the funds are confiscated within two weeks.

First time I have seen that one.

Not new, there are no new scams only rehashes or old ones trying to bilk people out of their meoney

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

Not new! That has been around for a few years already. I wish these people would get up and get a job and work for a living instead of working so hard to scam people.

A few years ago, I got a letter from well known insurance company claiming to have money for me from a policy taken out by my mother.

I was very skeptical, but it turned out to be legit.

There is nothing new about that.  They were running that scam back when people were writing on parchment with quill pens.

I was just about to say the same!  All of these scams have been around for a long time.  Slight variations, but it's the same old things being done over and over, and it will likely continue.  People need to use common sense.

Guess I’ve been fortunate, that scam hasn’t been on my radar before.  First time I’ve seen it.
