How do you handle the lint problem w/new towels? I have washed them several times and put them thru the dryer and they are still shedding. And they weren't cheap towels, not high end, but not cheap either. I hang my laundry outside, but have put the towels in the dryer just to get the excess lint off. I even went over them w/a lint roller! Back to hanging them outside because it doesn't seem to make any difference. Hope this eventually goes away. Any ideas?

I've never had that much of a problem. I just toss them in the dryer. I don't use softener either as that makes them less absorbent.

I have two throw blankets I keep over the back of the sofas. They're 8 years old and they still lint something awful. I have to stop the dryer 2-3 times to clean out the lint trap, I don't think they are ever going to stop shedding when they get washed and dried.

I had this problem with chenille robe I bought- Oh so soft, but it shed like nobody's business- seemed it didn't matter HOW many times I washed it-I finally had to get rid of it- Expensive lesson....

If it was me, I'd return the towels. I think many of today's towels are so "linty" it is unbelievable.
The towels of the 1970's 80's and 90's were not like this. I think they are trying to make towels way to light and fluffy, and the lint issue is just out of control. I'd happily pay more for towels made the old fashioned way, and they lasted forever. It seems a matter of luck today if you get a good quality towel or not.
I think that until retailers get their products back when the don't perform as expected, they are going to keep giving us trash at high prices.

Yes, where are those days? I remember them, too. Never had this problem back then!

I bought some cheap ones at Kohls that did that so I returned them. I usually don't have much of a problem with this though other than the ones I got there.

I bought several burgundy bath towels last year and ended up getting rid of them. The lint filter had to be cleaned every 15 minutes, I had burgundy lint in the shower area and on our skin. No amount of washing/drying eliminated the lint. They were nice fluffy towels, a good brand from BBB. I won't make that mistake again.
