I investigated fraud for 20 years of my career. I have seen too much and don't trust anything received by email or phone. I will hang up and call the official number of the business if I have any doubts.

The number of scam calls and emails has really increased lately. I had an email from "amazon" the other day saying my $5,900.00 order was confirmed. I laughed but called amazon to double-check.

I get a lot of scam calls about my social security number, Medicare, lawsuits filed against me, bank accounts, insurance claims, etc etc etc.  I just block the number. They call again using other numbers and I block them too.  It doesn't stop them all but I am not listening or responding.

For some reason  don't get any scam phone calls on my cell phone.  But I always get at least 1 a day on my land line.  But it's not SS.  Not yet.  They never answer.  All kinds of numbers. I don't pick up anymore.  Anyone get those kind of calls?

All of a sudden of late I seem to be getting several calls a day on my landline.    I wonder why the influx.  Sometimes mine now does say something about 'suspected spam' where the name would be but I wish I could just make it where they stop them from getting through.

I don't know who they're from or what the scam is, as I don't answer them and just hit 'block' on the phone, but it's getting annoying again.   Just leave me alone.   I don't ask much.

I need to find a way to have this not anger me so, since nothing will probably ever be done about it.  I cannot unplug the landline anymore because the husband calls me on it now, since there were some problems with calling my cell phone (probs on his end, not mine but he doesn't let facts get in the way anymore).

@chickenbutt  can you get rid of your voice mail? Would that be ok with him?

Would the other people who call you be able to get you on your cell phone?

Actually, one thing I did some time back was to turn voicemail OFF on the landline, primarily due to the fact that some of these calls would go through to voicemail and then I'd have to go through deleting them.

You can always see on phones these days 'missed call', so if somebody you would want to talk to calls when I'm out (which is seldom), I will know and can call back.
