Bought my husband this LG tracfone last month from the other site and  still have not activated. I do not know where to begin.  I have so many questions.

1,  Do I need to charge before I try to activate?

2.  The box says choose a plan?....,   It already comes with minutes, texts and data. And 1 year service.   Isn't that MY PLAN? 

3. WOULD IT BE EASIER TO CALL TRACFONE AND LET THEM ACTIVATE ?I ONLY HAVE AN iPad  and no printer should I get stuck and need to print something. 

I have have not opened box but was told there is no manual.

Yes,  first charge your phone.   In the box is a card with the phones serial number which you'll need.   There should be some instructions.   It's been a year so I don't remember the details.   Seems as tho I called HSN,  was given a phone# just for their activations.   You won't need to print anything.   You can also activate online.   It's not a hard process.   if you get stuck call Tracfone.   You do need to open the box.

I purchased a Tracfone from here so I would imagine the set up, etc., would be the same.

In the box should be a "quick start" list of what to do to activate the phone.  My phone had "tutorial lessons" and that will answer many of the questions/give you the procedures you need to do, also.

As far as the manual, you have to download it.

I got rid of my big plan.  $100 a month to call my hubby and ask him to bring home milk while I was running errands!  Expensive milk? (We have a land line.).

 I got a Track phone just for "accidents" and the Walmart mgr where I bought it made the call for me.

If you are new to tracfone, you are probably overwhelmed by the process.  Calm down and read everything  several times,  The red card with the serial number is important.  When the box says choose a plan that means that you choose how many minutes you need as opposed to having a monthly fee even if you don't use the phone much.  It's simple to do online.  The website is listed in the info received so just go to that website and choose activate.  It will give you the option to keep your present phone # or get a new one.   Just follow the prompts.  It could take up to 24 hrs but usually takes less.  If you choose to call tracfone you might get a person who does not speak English well so just ask if there is someone who speaks English better.

Just follow the instructions in the box - it is extremely easy. Mine did take 22 hours of the 24 hours they allow themselves to activate, but lo and behold , in 22 hours it was up and running. You will have a card in there with your promotional year of servoice and 1200 min. Don't worry - it is easy - read the instructions carefully.

Please don't wait too long or your pomotional minutes will expire.  You only have 60 days from the time you ordered it.

 Also, remember to call the number provided by tracfone when your phone has been activated or you won't be able to make or get calls.  I always forget this step.

I use the "chat" feature.  It seems to minimize the language problems, you can repeat the question to verify AND you can get a transcript e-mailed to you for reference.  I never did get my land-line phone number ported over, and it was easier to change my phone contact than to keep trying, but that's been my only problem with tracfone.  I'm thinking of getting a new smart one with lollipop OS with triple everything.  That will bring my coverage to 2020.
