I got a new cell number about 12 years ago and apparently it belonged to a “Robert” who left unpaid bills or something. Over time the calls stopped. If I don’t recognize a number I don’t answer. If it’s important they will leave a message. DH and I receive several calls daily (3-4) from our area code and first 3 numbers of our cell phone number. We don’t answer those calls either. The scams and spams never stop. The older you get the more unnerving it becomes.

@OKPrincess  The same thing happens to me.  When I get a call on my home land line it has those 3 exchange numbers, when I get one on my cell it has those 3 numbers, and when I get one on my work phone it also has those 3 numbers!

I sure don’t Know what’s happening but if a name doesn’t show up too bad. Can’t risk these scams coming at us so quickly. The news said we are more likely to answer if area code and exchange closely resembles ours.

@OKPrincess  That's what I thought too......that they figure you will think it's someone you know, or a local business you deal with, when you see a familiar exchange on the caller ID.
