New Yorkers, is The Post a legitimate newspaper? There are a couple of stories here citing it as the source that seem to border on sensationalism. Just wondered if they can be trusted.

@Kachina624 The NY Post is owned by Rupert Murdock and is a sensationalist tabloid. Always has been for as long as I can remember ( a very long time LOL). I would need verification from other sources.

@Kachina624 : the Post is, indeed a legit daily newspaper. While not everyone's choice for NY news, those sensational tabloid stories they print tend to be reliable and true.

I sometimes check it out for N.Y. sports news, but I would never trust it for hard news.

The NY Post has some very reputable columnists writing for them. For example Miranda Devine, Jonah Goldberg, Maureen Callahan, and Michael Goodwin (Pulitzer Prize winner).of course they have their famous Page Six celebrity gossip page.

@Kachina624 It is a legitimate newspaper and is owned by Rupert Murdoch. It doesn't hold as much weight as it did at one time. I know they reported a rumor on the death of Kim Jong Un. I'll wait until it's confirmed by other sources. Sometimes they do get a scoop. It's is not in the same category as the National Enquirer if that is what you are asking.

@Kachina624 Dr. fauci is quoted in the article I posted on the blood pressure drugs...agreeing with the information as concerning.

@SeaMaiden I haven't heard of this from Dr. Fauci from any other source and I've watched both National and local news today. That's why I wondered. It's very concerning.

@Kachina624 I read another article talking about the same subject....looks like it is being looked into right now and I imagine more info will come out as they find out more about the relationship. It stated:
Dr Carlos M. Ferrario - a researcher at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine and co-author of widely cited studies on ACE inhibitors - understands patients' plight.
"There is a lot of paranoia and a lot of speculation with very little fundamental, convincing information," he said.
The National Institutes of Health in the United States has put out a call seeking proposals for studies into the issue. An independent consortium of researchers has launched a global study to analyze health records for thousands of COVID-19 patients in the United States, Europe and Asia. That project is part of the Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics program, an open-source research platform that enables large-scale studies.

The reporter on that story is good from what I've seen. the Post and the 'Daily News both have good reporters after you weed through the tabloidy sort of stuff. Maggie Haberman of the NY Times wrote for the Post for a number of years.
