He needs more time to adjust. I suggest even if he is hiding she should talk to him so he gets used to her voice. Have the TV or radio on so he can get used to other noises. Once he realizes he is safe and there are no other pets there that are going to attack him and he learns the layout of the house, he will come out more. Please just give him more time. It will work out. He is just scared and doesn't know where he is or what is going on.
