Got an email, says it is from Social Security, that my account had been updated. SPAM
Email included a 5 digit code!
Social Security requires a 6 digit code which they send to your phone.
States "Be assured this email is safe." "DEAD GIVE AWAY" to me!
I use more than 1 email and they sent this email to the one I never use for business!

If it indeed IS spam, which it sounds like it is, then it is NOT from the SSA so you may want to amend your heading.

Good to share this with everyone. But you really need to edit your title. This is NOT from Social Security Administration, but from a Scammer masquerading as the Soc. Sec. Admin.

Scammers also have increased the calls where they call and ask if you got your new SS card. If you get such a call, hang up immediately.

Thanks! I changed the heading!
I kow it was SPAM becuase I use just 1 email for my business and this was sent to a different one...one I never use for business!
I have a copy of my account info and this email address is not on their records!

There's also a phone scam happening now where someone will call, asking you if you received your new Medicare card.
My husband was the one who was contacted by the scammer.
They wanted some of his personal info., plus his Medicare card number so that they could "verify info."
My husband became very suspicious after he started talking to the person and he asked them, "How do I know you're from Medicare?," and hung up on them, and then called Medicare directly, and the Medicare Rep. said that they don't call you.
Like Social Security does, you'll be sent a letter in the mail if Medicare needs to contact you.
