New Laptop~Questions

Hello to all. I took my computer desk top to the hospital today and she is dead....so my brother got me a Compac 15 1/2 inch screen and I am going to pay him monthly. I am having to learn the keyboard but that is good for my brain. I think I am going to miss my desk top but he thought I should have a lap top to take with me.

What wireless card do you use when you take your laptop from home? What did it cost you. I wonder where on the laptop I have to put the wireless port? I did not get an instruction book.
