It has nothing to do with lazy.
@hopi I don't understand - a whole generation doesn't like the feel of a top sheet.
The statement is a huge generalization. So start with it being an incorrect premise. The are millions in that generation who need the comfort of a sheet. There are many people in all of the world who cannot have a sheet draped on them be it old, young or babies.
These conversations get so wierd. No wonder so many people need to leave the forum.

I use a top sheet. They come in a set of sheets so might as well use it.
My late mother was European and she didn't use a top sheet. We didn't have them when I was growing up. I started using a top sheet when I got married and had my own household.

I see no value for me personally.
A throw or lightweight quilt or coverlet depending upon the season is sufficient, and all are easily washable.
To each their own. That it's a debate is fascinating.
The next major debate will be how you put your toilet paper roll in the dispenser over or under? Inquiring minds want to know.
Can you imagine the insults and bizarre outlooks on that.

I want a top sheet, I think its a preference to each his own.
But I think that the idea was advertised by bed linen manufacturers so they dont have to make the top sheet and do away with the total bed package. They will charge more individually.

Just curious...then you wash your comforter or blanket once a week @I am still oxox ? My washing machine won't wash a queen comforter. It just won't fit, so the top sheet keeps it fresh.🙂
@Trinity11 I was thinking of asking the exact same thing. My skin against a comforter or blanket, I would have to wash those items just like I do the sheets.

If I lived on my own, I'd most likely skip the top sheet.
Interesting "pruning" on this thread 😜

@Trinity11 You can not be serious I do not sweat when I sleep
I have no words.😳
@Trinity11 I do
I have to shake my head when people claim they don't sweat at night. No one is as fresh in the morning (bodily) as they are when they go to bed, even if they just bathed. You may not be dripping wet with sweat, but if your body gets hot, or even warm, it is perspiring. You may not notice the odor, but believe me, others do.

ALWAYS use a top sheet. I frankly think it's gross not to.
