@Goldengate8361 Most important people and things are relics of the 90's.  The decade produced a lot of relevant -- even to today -- literature, movies, music, and movers and shakers.

i guess it depends on what  or who you follow?

there is a movie that is loosely based on anna wintour.

there is an upcoming movie also that will be a sequel!

anna wintour is an icon who IS a fashion leader who shapes the MET GALA every year. of course, she has been with conde nast/vogue since 1988. not everyone may know who she is or even care who she is, but yes, she is STILL relevant and so is VOGUE.

wishing chloe malle good luck and she WILL have big shoes to fill and an empire to impress.

@Goldengate8361  For the past 13 yrs I have received the mag by snail mail.  I have no clue how or why.  I have NEVER subscribed nor PAID FOR a subscription.

I save all of the perfumed flaps.  I overheard a neighbor say "xxxxxx always smell like expensive perfume"  Smiley LOL

I've seen some very cute Dooney bags, I've never seen on the Q.

Besides, there is one particular model I personally know who is always in Vogue due to the designer they work for or always hires.  I couldn't believe it at first till I called they're parents.

@Mz iMac

I had a business in my home for years, I suddenly started receiving Vogue-free.

After 10 years it stopped. .i moved and left no forwarding address.

must be hard to try to get ahead with all the parent baggage hanging over you. but, if I believe what I hear about Anna W, she must be good and tough enough to withstand someone like Anna W hanging over your shoulder. Those are some tough sun glasses you gotta wear for sure to make through one day, lol. She's a perfectionist, so Chloe must be good, and show promise

I don't think for one minute Anna woukd put anyone in that job that can't cut the caviar,

This was announced several months ago. AW is not leaving the magazine but is taking on a new role/title.

This movie came out a couple of years before my daughter who was in college spent a summer interning at a small fashion magazine (don't recall the name) in NYC.

She would take the train into the city from our home 2-3 times a week and didn't get paid.  It took about 1 1/2- 2 hours.  She had to pay out of pocket for the transportation costs as well as lunch.  In addition, her boss was mean (made her cry once) and tough like the Meryl Streep character!

There were a few things that made it fun....once while she was there they let everyone go through some huge storage closet and take what they wanted.  DD brought home designer sunglasses, shoes and cosmetics.  She also went to a high end party helping to represent the magazine once as well.

It was quite a learning experience!

Interesting!  I did not know that.  I hadn't read or had a subscription in years.  I just received a mailing that said you could get a year for $10 and I thought -- why not?  I will try it just for the heck of it.  It probably won't even be worth that, but....
