It's 94* here today, but feels like 104*.  I let the dog out to potty and he's right back inside after he's done.  I'm not going out there.

I am one with no airconditioning.  I just run fans.  I wanted to get it when my furnace was installed last year, but it would have been and addtional $3,000.  Since I am retired, I don't have that kind of money.

@quilter61.  $3000. Would've been a bargain.  You should have done it regardless.  Each summer, it is predicted, will be hotter.  How about one of those portable units qvc sells? It could be a matter of life or death.

I'd rather have extreme heat than extreme cold.  I hate winter and enjoy the summer heat.

Of course, it doesn't have to go to the 90's and above for me to enjoy it.

There's nothing we can do about it, but adapt the best we can in any extreme weather.  This too, shall pass.

Stay safe and keep hydrated.. And, don't forget about the pets.  If outdoors, bring them in and be careful they don't burn their paws on the sidewalks and streets.

I am retired on a fixed income.  No way could I spend another $3,000.  The furnace alone was $7,500.  Tried to get assistance for paying for it, but my income is just a few dollars over the limit.  A lot of houses around me have no air.

They have portable air conditioners at very reasonable prices.

Storms missed Illinois....they were expected around 7.

Yes, it's been a HOT summer. Yes, it isn't over. Oh the wet blanket syndrome. Blinds closed, ac running and running and running, and box fans to supplement.

The nice thing about this heat wave is that the end has always been in sight; cooler temps and lower humidity have long been predicted to start Sunday night into Monday.

When I can see the end, these spells are easier to endure.  Some summers the heat and humidity goes on and on like torture.

I don't blame you for not caring all that much for Summer.

I can't tolerate hot weather all that much anymore, the older I get.

I need to stay inside and try and stay cool and hydrated as much as I can.

I live in Wisconsin near Lake Michigan and we get "lake-effect weather."

The weather can be very humid near the lake, no matter the time of the year. During the Summer,  it can be very uncomfortable.

I like the cooler seasons of the year, especially Autumn.
