If some demand the right to not be vaccinated and/or wear a mask, the vaccinated need to demand the right to be shielded from them.  Fair is fair.

Non vaccinated people are not dangerous.  People who are sick with covid put those who have not been vaccinated at risk.  Get your vaccination and move on.  This whole pitting one side against another on everything is getting so old.

Still crickets.

I cannot answer your question, but I am guessing most people were not wearing a mask when they were outside so the 'new' guidelines are sort of ho hum.

And wearing a mask while exercising or forcing kids to wear a mask while competing in sports was just plain stuipd....that 'mandate' needs to be dropped as well.

They may not have been wearing them in public but in some states there was a mask mandate even for outdoors.

I live in Ohio and in our state, if you are outdoors you are supposed to wear a mask unless you can be socially distant.  If you cannot, you are required to wear a mask.  When dining outside, you are required to wear a mask until you get to your table.  But waiters, etc. are required to be masked even when serving outside.

I never wore a mask when outside at a park or walking my dog.  I did have to wait in line outside a few times for things and everyone waiting in line was masked.  I rarely saw people in large venues, outside, not masked if they weren't socially distanced.

Same old arguments....

If you want to wear a mask wear one.

If you don't want to wear a mask don't.

If you want to get the vaccine get  it

If you don't want to get the vaccine then don't

Vaccines are so available clinics are being cancelled because appointments are not filling.  It is time to let people make the choice that works for them and move on.

@CrazyDaisy , I know I have seen a lot on the news about walk-in vaccine clinics with no appointment necessary.

The mass vaccination site in Cleveland is now open to walk-ins.

@CrazyDaisy , this is what infuriates me.  I cannot understand why this is such a controversial issue.

If someone wants to be vaccinated, get vaccinated.  If you don't want the vaccine, don't get the vaccine.  I do not understand people calling those who don't want to be vaccinated selfish, uncaring, irresponsible, etc.  nor do I get people calling those who want to be vaccinated foolish, sheep, controlled, etc.   It's ridiculous.

Re: New CDC Guidelines for mask wearing

If those who do not want to wear a mask for whatever reason, have been reading for the past year,

so many affected are non- symptomatic, and they also transmit the virus to many others.

So the "you do you and I'll do me" does not really help either one at all.

I really hope people move on from this "pitting" each other against each other." The ones who refuse to do what is common sense in the midst of a continually spreading deadly virus with new and more contageous and more deadly variants are prolonging the "pitting!"

Re: New CDC Guidelines for mask wearing

I wear masks in businesses.  When walking out the door I take it off.  I don't wear one outside, when going for a walk, etc.  If I run into a neighbor when getting the mail we stop and chat, none of us wearing a mask.  We socially distance, don't hug, don't touch, etc.  This is how it has been since day one.  I am fully vaxed as is everybody in my family.   If I am the one protected and willing to take that 5% chance, why do I need to mask?  Not being snarky, I really want to know.  The CDC says fully-vaccinated people do not transmit Covid so I won't be a danger to others.

@Still Raining Why assume that a non-vaccinated person is infected?  Yet a vaccinated person can still spread the virus to those who aren't vaccinated...yes fair is fair.

Anyway most seem to think that once they are fully vaccinated they are almost fully protected.  So why would they be afraid of those who aren't vaccinated?

So those who may not agree with you deserve the ridicule.  Ever hear "it takes two to tango", "two sides to every story", "what works for one, but not another".  By all means carry on

I can't believe people that are vaccinated will continue to wear masks for the rest of their lives.  You must not trust those vaccines you are getting.  I refuse to live in fear, and I won't wear a mask outside.

Re: New CDC Guidelines for mask wearing

[ Edited ]

I have had both shots of the vaccine.  I am still wearing a mask and social distancing because I am afraid that both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated can be infected with and pass on the virus.  I view the vaccine as providing a level of protection against dying from the virus if i should contract Covid.  I do not as view it as a 100% guarantee that I cannot contract the virus from an infected person.
