That's been the rule for awhile now.
Every business has a sign that says that one MUST wear a mask upon entering.

I think it's a good idea. Kudos to that governor.
Some of us live in fairly populated areas where it's probably a good idea to wear masks, especially during regular flu and cold seasons.
How many times, in the past years and years, have folks, and also their children, walked around in stores, groceries, pharmacies coughing and coughing without covering their faces or using a tissue.
Deep, ill coughs.
More than plenty of times.
I might add that we stopped attending ch*rch because of this situation.
Again, I do believe that it all depends on the area. Some areas might, for whatever unknown reason, be more careful and courteous. ? I don't know exactly why. It would be interesting research.
Maybe in some areas, it would be a good idea to have public service announcements, and the schools can educate the children.
Maybe in the areas where flu and C virus is more prominent?
I don't know the answer.
'All in all', let's all wish everyone the very best of health and safety. And courtesy.

Don't go to TMZ.com and see how many celebrities are walking around Hollywood and surrounding LA area with NO masks.
Oh wait.....I forgot that they're special.........

To me this is just legal enforcement, and backing up business owners good. I live in CA, and I always see everyone wearing masks. Not wearing a mask here where I live, in Santa Clara County is kinda like wearing a fur coat to a PETA meeting It is frowned on not to wear one. We all want things to open up, people to get well and get on with our lives . California is the 5th largest economy in the world...we need to get going BUT SAFELY. Masks, social distancing, washing up, sanitizing and temp checks help. Why be wreckless..? Governor Newsom has certainly rose to the occasion

Maybe folks who feel 'entitled' or maybe have huge self esteem (or whatever it's called....can't think of the word right now).
I've seen it even with some, not all, in my own ________. Dare I say.
Just that attitude of not caring.........
Enough said.

The only certainty is that there's major debate over the efficacy of wearing masks, so Gavin Newsom's assertion that mask-wearing is crucial, and that he's following the science is nothing but hooey.
As in other states, these laws are only as good as their enforcement, and there is none--not by stores, and certainly not by LE, who aren't enforcing much of anything these days.

@Anonymous032819, it's now a state requirement. That means that it should supecede local counties and cities, several of which have no such requirement, but rather just a recommendation. The news has profiled some that have had to cave in light of some very angry non-users -- there have death threats.

@bikerbabe Our governor in Mississippi has also said it is required to wear a mask in public but we have some folks here that know more than anyone. I see people at the grocery store with no mask also. Most are young and foolish with the thought process that it can not happen to me.

@RealtyGal2 : I lived in Mojave Desert for 26 yrs and do my major shopping in Phoenix; I agree that heat is not an excuse from masking up. I switched to lighter weight fabrics.
