I never cared for PD (long before her "debacle"), but I have no problem with people spending money the way they see fit.

<h5>My only comment on the Gooey butter cake is that it is so easy to make, why spend the extra money on it. It only requires cake mix, butter, cream cheese, eggs, and vanilla (the recipe can easily be found online) and is much cheaper to make at home. Isn't 5 minutes work worth a savings of 80%?</h5>

Paula Deen's baked goods are not new at Walmart. I've seen them for several years. Read the list of ingredients on the gooey butter cake label, then see if you still want to eat it. All chemicals and it's not that tasty either.

Our Walmart has had these for years. I make my own from a cake mix from the Cake Doctor cookbook.
