Where did you see the last sentence? It would relieve my anxiety to read the actual context of that statement.and form for myself an opinion of its truth.

Huh?
-) Once you download the App, they have YOUR information.
Who are these people?
-) Once you do a $4.99 upgrade, they have your money.
How is this $$ being used?
-) If this information is so secret, don't you think everyone in the entire World will have access to this same information?
Again, who are these people?
How do you know you're not supporting someone by downloading this innocuous App on iTunes?
Good points, @sidsmom.
The fear just screams at you on that site. Absolutely ridiculous.
That is of course your right. I down loaded it and it does show other things than terror.

The APP is free, if you choose to buy it you get more information an alerts.
Given that tactic, wouldn't your life be worth more than 'free?'
If more information could be garnered, wouldn't that be 'priceless?'
$4.99 gets upgraded info. I would bet once you're in, they would continue to offer more & more expensive packages....because it's special secret 'information the 'government doesn't want you to know.'
Marketing 101.

Actually that is not what it says at all. Since you are not even interested in the APP, what are you using ? What is your life worth? The Gov alert system is not working.

It's no surprise there's so much ID Fraud these days...

I'm surprised at the cynicism here. Many apps are offered for free but they include ads. If you want to avoid the ads, you can pay for the app. I don't think you have to worry about being tempted to buy and buy and buy for more secret code ring stuff. I know this, I have paid for apps to avoid the ads and have never, not once, been encouraged to spend more for a super-duper version of the app.

I've honestly never bought an app. Not even sure what they are (have no idea what a cookie is).
That said, if I ever suspected something that I felt posed a threat, whether it was child abuse, drug dealing or terrorism, etc. I would not hesitate one bit to alert authorities.
Is anyone here too afraid to alert the authorities (police) about something suspicious?

I found both articles interesting, thanks for supplying the links. What I read is that it's a bit of he said/she said. Ridge says it's true, others say it's nonsense used to sell his book.

Tom Ridge stated this - he was the head of Homeland Security and wrote a book on it - said it right in there
http://crooksandliars.com/john-amato/tom-ridge-admits-terror-alerts-were-use
The book is “The Test of Our Times: America Under Siege…and How We Can Be Safe Again
You can read his book. Plus there are numerous accounts in newspapers from the 2004 cycle about this. Notice when that system was never really used again after the election was over
