Never saw so many Fed Ex tractor trailers

[ Edited ]

We drove from Bullhead City AZ to Holbrook AZ on I 40 today ( almost 4 hr trip), seemed like every 4th truck was a double Fed Ex tractor trailer. There were so many in both directions that it was like a bad dream.  When I got home I googled how many of this type truck Fed Ex owns (84,000). Somebody's packages are on those trucks! Think the supply chain is getting fixed. We also stopped at Sams in Bulkhead City: so many high end Christmas items reduced ( I asked, they came in after Christmas).

I traveled from SC to NJ on the I 95 corridor before Christmas. Same here with the trucks except I was seeing all Amazon trucks.

We drove to Md. for Christmas on I-95 from Tampa.  Saw tons of trucks Fed X, Prime, etc. going in both directions.  We decided to leave Md. the day after Christmas because of other appts.   We were really happy that we made that decision now.

DH and I have driven cross country 3 times, the last about 15 years ago.  More recently, we have taken shorter trips on interstate highways and were appalled at the number of trucks.  Makes driving hazardous and very unpleasant, IMO.  Glad we're through with our long distance driving.

We traveled from New Mexico to Los Angeles on I10 the week before Christmas. The truck traffic was beyond frightening. Most of the traffic was dominated by Amazon Prime. Fed Ex was a close second. I had not considered how all the online ordering would have increased truck traffic, but it did.

Now instead of shipping a case pack of goods to one location that case is broken into individual boxes that require much more space in a truck and is shipped all over the country. We had quite the discussion and realized this has helped lead to more trucks on the interstates and contributed to the shortage of drivers.

I am just grateful we got there and back to New Mexico safely. We are staying here a few days to recover from the interstate drive. We can use smaller highways to get back to Texas.

We were driving on I95 in RI a week before Christmas and we saw one of those Amazon convoys.  Longest trucks I ever saw and they just kept coming and coming.  All that shopping did make me feel good about the economy.

"Supply Chain Problems" was resolved. This term is dead-in-the-water so no more excuses for shipment delays.
