So we had a pregnant cat show up in our yard a couple years ago. Long story short, because we were'nt prepared in our budget for cats, it took us a while to get them all spayed or nuetered. And at 100.00 a pop we couldn't do them all at once. Anyway, I wanted to do the females first. We have 2 males that were next on my list. One is quite loving but seemed stresses during the mating season so I hoped this would calm him down and make him more of a pet. The other was quite agressive towards females but was scared to death of me. Well, more annoyed I guess. Even as I was feeding him he would look at me like what am I doing in his yard :-) So I was hoping getting him nuetered would force him to leave the poor females alone. He'll never be much of a pet but I was hoping he'd calm a bit.
So they got nuetered 5 weeks ago. Both were calm and a bit tired for a few days after. The loving one now walks around like he's annoyed at the world. He'll still let me love on him but not for long. And yesterday he jump on a cat that had been spayed. The other one, the agressive one, is doing just what he did before he got nuetered. He's walking around with that annoying mating meow. He's disappearing for 2 days and taking a female with him. And chasing even the spayed ones. I have one female that is nursing newborns and she took off with her for a day and a half. What is going on? Is this normal? I called my vet on Friday and she's on vacation until Wednesday so I thought you guys might know something.
Thanks,
Susan
