Neighbors

Living in a neighborhood has its benefits and downsides. When you live right next to people, it’s hard not to notice everything they do.

From keeping their yard in top shape to going all out for decorations on the holidays, neighbors keep our lives interesting as they become our friends, enemies, or mutual alliances.

We can't choose our neighbors, but here are some neighbors that keep life spiced up and would be interesting (albeit annoying) to live next to.

I must say I lucked out in the neighbor department. The neighbors on either side of me are great and I hope they never move.

Wish I could post pictures of two of my most memorable neighbors (neither were next door but they were close enough!):

1. Cut clear plastic gallon milk jugs in half and placed them upside down over alternating red and white lights staked in their lawn to create a unique Christmas display.

2. Cut various beer and wine bottles in half and placed them upside down along flower beds in the front yard to create a landscape border. Not all the bottles are the same height, so the effect is rather "wavy."

Had to laugh at the dog poop one. We live across the street from a beautiful park, the city provides poop bags and you'd think just maybe everyone would clean up after their dogs. I pick up the trash but I ain't touching that cr*p 🙃

We have really nice neighbors. There are 6 houses down our access road. Each house is on 2 acres or a little more so houses are spread out. The last lot was sold this spring and their house is being built right now. We have cookouts ect. We laugh and say the men in the neighborhood are like the sons my dad never had. They are always hanging out and helping each other. We just got new neighbors this week as our old neighbor moved. They seem nice.
