Re: Neighborhood Fireworks...

I don't like them at all. The noise is obnoxious, frightens the animals and quite frankly, if you've seen them then you've seen them. Even the somewhat impressive ones aren't that impressive.

Re: Neighborhood Fireworks...

Did anyone mention dangerous when set off by a bunch of kids who have no idea what they're doing?  In this hot, dry weather...fires?

Well, I enjoy fireworks.

Does not bother my dog or cat not one bit.

My neighbor is setting off a lot of fireworks right now.   I like fireworks that light up the sky but in this case I don’t see any light “display” but just super loud booms. So I don’t care for these.

Re: Neighborhood Fireworks...

They started in my neighborhood the night of Juneteenth and there have been some most nights since.  I have one nervous dog that won't eat or go outside while they're being set off or for hours afterwards.  These inconsiderate jack***** are making me very angry.  Feel sorry for people trying to sleep or get children to sleep.  I don't know why we have to put up with this... Our mayor and my city councilman tell me they don't have the power to ban them even in our drought.  Fireworks lobby must be very powerful.

@Mz iMac I only enjoy professional fireworks handled safely by fire specialists. The illegal ones that individual neighbors set off are a fire hazard. They are also not a pretty sight to watch. The ones in your pic are pretty.

@Kachina624 @Ours (not professional or in keeping with exact specs for a few allowed small fireworks) are banned and if reported, police will show up and confiscate the rest of them, since they are illegal. Police will also write citations, but they have to witness them being set off first.

Re: Neighborhood Fireworks...

I am not a fan of fireworks.

Our one remaining dog, an almost five-year old rescue, is

absolutely freaked out by any BOOM sound, and he

hides.

Last year, it started in mid June, and he didn't want to go

outside after noon.  I had to walk him on a leash, and we

live on a completely fenced acre.

It took months for him to want to go out at night.

I thought it had to due with his rescue status.

But our vet said it is the nature of some dogs.

I am dreading the full-blown noise that will be

heard this weekend.
