First month is 10 dollars..... Its on a month to month basis ........ You can cancel anytime.... No contracts......I let my sons set everything up wasn't sure I could get it right not ever having anything like it before....
I agree. Sling is fabulous. It's pretty much all the channels you get on cable. Except you can turn it off and on whenever you want.
Whenever there's something on cable tv that I can't find on other streaming networks, I just get sling tv for a few months to watch it and then turn the account inactive again.

My RCN cable just went up $21.00 and $13.00 of that was taxes and fees. What a rip off.

I kicked DirectTV to the curb 2 years ago when the raised my price $65 a month. They would not negotiate. I still get junk mail from them at least once a month wanting me to come back but i just throw it away so I don't know what they are offering.

I live in AZ and we have Dish but (at present) no NBC; this happens occasionally, it'll eventually be back.

They have contracts with local providers which expire and must be renegotiated. They'll go through the process, then NBC will return. Here, it was CBS not long ago.

I have been with Dish Network for over 15 years. I have negotiated several types of "deals", which include equipment/package price reductions, and credits when I did not have access to channels that were down.
Also worked with service contractors they use for my area country for discounts on services they were providing. My present contract includes my cost for a Hopper 3, being the same as the Hopper.
Left DirecTV because I knew more about electronics then their base line technicians, and instead of minutes, it took hours to get even simple problem corrected.
I too remember long before retail TV sets hit the market, and the limited number of OTA stations one could watch, but only daytime hours.
I am happy with Dish Network and plan on negotiating with them, to my satisfaction, again when I need a new contract.
These are my experiences with this company.

I have Dish & lost Fox (when it comes back, I'll have to catch up on The Resident & 911 via On Demand) & some other channel the 1st part of Oct. due to a dispute with some outfit called Tegna. I called Dish's CS a couple of days ago, & the guy gave me $5 off for one month. The last time I lost channels, they gave me $5 a month off for 6 mos., but I guess they're getting stingy! He told me to call back next month if it hasn't settled to get another big $5 off!

@Flika13 wrote:Has anyone successfully negotiated a good deal with Dish Network? I have been a customer for over 10 years, not that they care, and my bill just went up $30 a month. I spoke with someone today in the customer retention department but was not happy with the deals they offered. I told them what price I would be happy with and when they couldn't meet that price I said to cancel my account on Dec 3 , I am paid up until then.
How long should it usually take until Dish contacts me with a better price? I remember when television was free! Of course we only had three channels and I actually had to get up to change the channel.
I've been working on moving away from Dish, so I'm curious as to what you have decided to do.
Unless I get some new information, I am going to bundle my internet and TV with Spectrum ... it's a 12 month rate with no contracts, which is their big selling point ... mo contracts. Prices jump after 12 months, but it looks like my TV and internet costs will drop approximately $80 a month ... for now.
I have no idea what Sling or streaming is, so am not sure if it's something I would even want.

None of your networks must be owned by Tegna then. They are in a contract dispute with DISH.
We lost CBS. I've been watching my shows on my iPad with their app. At least it's free.
