I hope some of you can help us with how to acquire a new dog. My husband and I have been considering getting a new dog since losing our Molly over a month ago. We miss her very much and of course are not trying to replace her, but feel we are missing something without having a pet in our lives. Molly came to us as a puppy. A co-worker of my husband's had a dog that had puppies and he was looking for homes for them. We were not looking for a dog at the time, but my son was just 7 and we thought maybe we should consider it. Well the rest is history . . . we got our beautiful Molly. We had her for 10 wonderful years and could not have asked for a better dog. We always felt she found us, so now that we are considering another dog, we just don't know where to start. We have been to the SPCA, but we really do want a puppy and they are rare there and the "competition" for adopting one is something we don't want to do. I thought maybe if some of you could tell us how you got your furbabies, we might find a path to finding a new one for ourselves. I wonder if we should just wait until the next one finds us too. We have let friends and family know we are looking, but have not done much else. I don't know if anyone can help, but thought i would check. Thanks!
