Need opinions

I have a friend whose mother is in the later stages of Alzheimer's and she's still married to his dad. Now it turns out his dad has found a girlfriend who he not only brings with him to visit his ailing wife, but they hold hands in front of her too. My friend was very upset by this and asked them not to do it anymore. What do you think? IMO the dad shouldn't even be bringing his girlfriend around to visit his wife.
