Need opinion re: dinnerware

My niece is registered for Lenox Federal Platinum which is a bone white china with a Platinum rim. I have a Lenox pattern that is very similar and would give her my large 16 inch platter ( sells between $ 250.00 and $ 300.00 ) since I never use it anymore. However, my Lenox is an ivory bone china with a Platinum rim. My sister claims it wouldn't look bad together but I think my ivory platter would look a tad dirt next to the bone white. Any opinions? I don't think they should be mixed.
