I have a good acquaintance, and by this I mean, we go to lunch or plays together, an occasionally class or two. Yesterday she invited me to a play this weekend and I told her as soon as I got back from the Dr. office, I would confirm I would go. I couldn't confirm then because I was having rapid heart palpitations and didn't know the outcome.
Well I'm very healthy, just need to cut back on caffeine. My BP 110/60, oxygen OK, EKG OK, weight OK, everything for age 77 OK.
She called today before I could call her and her first words were, the date of the play changed, not How are you? I confirm It was OK to pick up tickets.
I was ill with the flu once and had to cancel a lunch, a week later, she never asked if I was OK, or called to see if I needed help. Now this is a minor thing, but I thought it strange or rude. I guess because I would have done all the above. This will not stop me from her company, but I can't classified her as a friend, just a good acquaintance. Just needed to get it off my chest. When she was sick for a year, I had just met her, and called and went shopping for her and did little things and had only met her a month before her accident I guess some people don't have compassion.
