Need input on buying a WiFit system, not even sure if that is the name of it. See how much help I need?

I see all the various options on Amazon, etc. but not sure where to start. We would love to do the bowling and golf and tennis stuff. I have friends who love thier system but we have never been into Nintendo or anything. Does it just hook to your tv? Do you need a new fancy tv?
