Need ideas please for a Maine vacation

DH, DS, DD (teens) and I are trying to plan a vacation to Maine this summer. I would really appreciate any ideas you can share on where to go in Maine for a fun family vacation. We'd like to go along the coast because the pictures look so pretty. What are some fun activities you would suggest? Any particular places to visit? Any ideas at all would be greatly appreciated.
