Need help from Neti pot users

Can it be possible that my nasal passages are so congested the water will not flow through them? I know this isn't a pleasant subject, but I'm trying to clear my head from a recent cold and the water simply will not pass through!

Good heavens...I've never had that problem....any suggestions?
