done on the day the termination happened
end of story
@Lipstickdiva wrote:You want to know what I would do? I'd call them, tell them their company stuff is at my house, come and get it. Period.
Then once you are able, after you get your 2 weeks severance money, I'd file for unemployment.
Done.

@I am still oxox - Apparently they were not confused when they let you go. I'm betting there is a lot more to this story than you stated. You wanted opinions - you got them. The only thing you have done so far is be RUDE to everyone and anyone who has replied and offered suggestions. People have come here and offered solid, sound advice and you just continue to be rude. Seems like unless someone totally agrees with you - your response is they can't read. Maybe you need an attitude adjustment - after reading your posts - I don't blame them for letting you go! Maybe instead of being on these forums so long, you should start the unemployment process.

omg how to you get thru the day with a ego as big as yours,
its theirs they need to claim it they are well aware that I do not drive and since I now longer do work for them its not my responsiblty to return their property
@Lucky Charm wrote:You make it sound like their stumbling and bumbling around their offices scratching their heads, banging their chests.I can bet it's calmer than that.....Either way, give them back what's theirs. You'll have to drive there. I doubt they're sending you a limo.@I am still oxox wrote:I have made the fact clear to them since I was let go, the next move it theirs, they are so confused they do not know which end is up

I CAME HERE TO ASK A THEORETICAL QUESTION, YET SOME HERE SEEM TO WANT TO MALIGN AND TEAR ME DOWN AT THE DROP OF A HAT. I WAS CALLED A LIAR AND A THIEF AND WAS TOLD I SHOULD GO TO JAIL
YES I HAVE BEEN RUDE AND NASTY AND ANSWERED EACH POST IN KIND, I COULD NOT BE SWEET TO SOME POSTERS
THINK OF THE PERSON BEFORE YOU POST AND IT WILL KEEP THIS PLACE MUCH NICER.
READ THE POST BEFORE YOU MAKE ASSUMPTIONS

Unless you worked for the Gov't or as a contractor. Your employment is subjected to "at will" they have the right to let you go at anytime with no compensation or justification. Also unless it was "written" company policy or you signed a contract stating at the end of your employment you would be granted a severance package you technically can not hold them to that either. They as the Company have the right that no matter how long you were in their employment it is up to them to grant a monetary package. Holding on to their property no matter what you feel is your intellectual property is wrong and against the law. It can be viewed as stealing and dependent on what exactly it is could get you into a lot of trouble. You of course can have "samples of your work to use in your portfolio for future job searches. I suggest instead of getting armchair advise here. You consult with a wrongful termination Attorney and explain your grievances. Let the Attorney advise you as to your rights and what to do going forward.
Good luck

I think you're right. OP is understandably upset, but she's at the point now that she is lashing out at everyone. Her comments are getting viscious and she clearly doesn't want any more advice. Probably best to let this thread die a natural death.
