Need a recommendation of a book as great as Defending Jacob!

That book by far will probably be my favorite of this year and now I am in a book slump as I don't think I can find a book as interesting and as well written as the above, but would welcome any suggestion of books that have interesting characters is not full of details but is totally character and story telling at its best.

I found this book to be rather similar to Defending Jacob. The title is The Good Father by Noah Hawley. Here is a short review from Amazon.

"Dr. Paul Allen is a good man. As Noah Hawley's novel opens, he is enjoying the family tradition of shouting out Jeopardy questions with his wife and twin sons. The game is interrupted by breaking news. The Democratic candidate--the presumed next President of the United States--has just been shot at a public rally. The coverage is chaotic, with reports and footage coming in from a variety of sources. Finally, some images of the shooter come up on the screen. It's Daniel, Paul's 20-year-old son from his first marriage. So begins a nightmare."

I LOVED this book and still have it in my mind every now and then, although I must have read it in 2012. I hope you give it a try.

I wasn't expecting that ending at all and while a great book, the ending was not to my liking.

Sunny, just downloaded THE GOOD FATHER. Thanks for the recommendation. I am traveling by air all day at the end of the month and was looking for a good read to help me along the way!!! Will post back when I'm finished. LM
