Need Tips On How To Get Rid Of A Spider =/

So I pulled into my garage...closed the garage door...and turned off the car. My radio stays on until I open the door, and it was a song that I really like. Since it was almost over, I decided to lsiten to the rest of it. Then I notice a large reddish brown spider (about 2-2.5 inches long including the legs) running up the inside of my windshield. I screamed a little, and tried to jump out of the car, but my purse got stuck, and I looked back at the windshield and it was running toward me! I got my purse unstuck and ran into the house as fast as I could. I have no idea if it got out of the car when i slammed the door. I wish I knew what kind of spider it was, as it might ease my fears a little bit. But anyway, my SO is out of town for a few days, and I'm not quite sure what to do at this point. I have church and need to run some errands tomorrow, so I need to use the car. I wish I didn't have this fear of spiders, but ever since I watched arachnophobia the movie in elementary school, I've been a little freaked out by them. lol. Does anyone have any tips on how to search/remove this thing from the inside of my car/garage? It needs to go! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}
