Need Recommendation for Pewter Polish (and not Brasso)

I have some pewter that is VERY tarnished and I want to make it look new again. I just tried some brand new Brasso polish that we bought yesterday but it's not doing a dang thing. Can anyone else recommend a good polish?

(Probably 20 years ago now, an elderly lady who worked in my hometown's hardware store--which doesn't exist anymore--recommended a polish that was a paste and it worked wonders. I can't remember what it was called though!)
