Need Help with Gift Ideas for Wonderful Vet

I am so sad to share that we lost our wonderful Pom, Nikki, on Monday. She was 15 and had been suffering from renal failure (among other things) since January.

Nikki was seeing a specialist for treatment until about 2 months ago, when it was determined that there wasn't much more we could do for her other than administering her daily fluids and medications.

So, he knew that we would not be bringing her back to the Vet for exams, bloodwork, etc. It was just too stressful for her.

Despite that fact, our wonderful Vet always answered my very frequent email seeking his advice, recommendations re medication, etc. He never charged us and was always so helpful.

We'd like to send him a gift to show him how much we appreciate everything he did for Nikki and us. We've thought of a donation to charity in his honor or perhaps a gift certificate for dinner but before we commited to anything, I thought I'd ask you kind ladies if you had any other suggestions.
