Re: Need Guidance on signing up for Medicare through SS

I just want to advise anyone signing up for Medicare for the first time to think twice and then a third time before taking an Advantage plan!  Learn the problems down the road with Advantage plans!  I don't have any agenda other than warning people.  I do not sell Medicare plans either.  I just don't want people to have the problems some of my friends have had!

@lovepink, thanks for the warning. Love, love my Advantage plan. It's the best thing for me. Everybody is free to choose what's best for them.

I have an Advantage plan.  It covers everything Medicare does at 100% in and out of network.  Plus I have dental, vision, hearing aids, silver sneakers and great RX coverage.

I never have any out of pocket costs..no deductibles, copayments or co-insurance.

RX drugs have a small copay.

Not all Advantage plans are the same.

@Susan LouiseKeep in mind that this was a holiday week so today was their busy "Monday".  If you decide to try calling again, maybe wait until a little later in the week.

Good to know and especially wise to find out all your options.  But just like most things in life, everything is relative, literally.  Both my parents had the Advantage plans and had no problems.  I'm not ready for Medicare yet, but when I am eligible I will have to study my options.

I agree 100%.  Once you sign up for an Advantage Plan you're pretty much stuck with it once you are past your individual enrollmennt period.

Re: Need Guidance on signing up for Medicare through SS

@lovepink I have a Medicare Advantage Plan and NEVER have had an ounce of trouble.

I don't know where all the bad vibes are coming from about advantage plans.  Maybe the companies that want you to spend money on their suppplement plans.
