Natural Gas hike

[ Edited ]

We have heard that our gas heating bills are going to skyrocket so get ready to empty your pockets. I'm getting ready, have my cuddle duds faux sheerling shirt, super warm!! My cuddle duds socks on order and using my Dyson heater to keep my room toasty.

That Dyson is a real workhorse! Since day 1 I use the fan setting and now the heat to get the chill out so I don't have the furnace on much and I'm near Chicago. It gets pretty cold here so bundle up everyone and stay well!

Our gas bills went out this week and people are on the NextDoor app screaming about the increase today.  We've had unusually warm weather here too with every day being at least 10° above normal.  What's it going to be like when it really gets cold?

It's gonna be an expensive winter. I will hear a cash register ring every time my furnace starts. I told DH to get used to a sweater because we are turning the thermostat down. You stay well also @Mustang Shar

Yes, the new energy policies are ridiculous but here we are. I live in the North, keep my heat set at 56 to 53 so it can't go any !ower to save money...paying more to be cold, ugh.

We dropped our thermostat by 3-4 degrees during the day and it auto drops 10 degrees at night...under the quilts anyway.

The last few weeks, it's been heat, A/C, heat, A/C...crazy weather.

After the "snowmageddon" we had in Texas last February, with sub-zero temps for days, heavy snow, and power outtages with no heat, we will just be thankful for enough heat to stay warm and enough hot water to bathe. Am sure even if we use less and keep the thermostat down, we will still have higher bills.

Happy I had the attic filled with insulation  (yes, vented by professionals)  and added extra layer of insulation sheets when new siding was installed.

When I tried using my Dyson heat/cold unit it messed up the thermostat so much the gas thermostat would shut down.............sensing the heat from the Dyson....the entire house became  COLD and cold drafts would sweep through both floors

Dyson has been unused in the basement for 7 years or more.

My gas company already asked for permission to raise prices by 16%.  They have been asking for that much every year. They are always denied raising it more than 1-2%, but now, I think they'll get 16% and probably, more.
