It does help to speak to a therapist or an unbiased friend. This is just my thought on the subject. The change in society over the years can make us question ourselves. Some might be interested to know that these crisis hotlines are seriously underfunded and understaffed in many areas across the country.  This leads to fairly long wait times for callers in many areas.  Callers do hang up and then workers  have no way of knowing what happened to those callers.

To compound the problem the agencies that provide follow up counseling services to callers that don't have mental health coverage are also underfunded and understaffed. 

Anyone interested that might want to make a difference can research the status of your local crisis center along funding issues & think about ways you might help.
