Nature Photographer Atif Saeed captured this photo of a male lion moments before it launched an attack on him. The photographer jumped into a vehicle to escape the lion.

Enlarge the eyes and mouth area to see the rage.

Can you imagine... that could have been the photographer's last picture we all would have seen when they picked up the camera "where Mr. Saeed was last seen". Bet that moment lives on in his dreams for quite awhile!

@On It

This is scary to me too.

Do you think he was running so fast it caused his nose to press against his face?

Glad the photographer got away safely.

I'm sure that photographer knows that WILD ANIMALS can be very VERY territorial.  Good thing he had a vehicle to jump in to.

It's his upper front teeth that scare me.  Yuck.

@OKPrincess I think it is a snarl. I have decided that photographer had to be in position to take the photo beside the vehicle.

I will never understand why people take stupid risks.What in the world was he doing so close to get photographs?!

@on the bay I myself am very risk averse, but there are people who photograph wildlife as a livelihood. I am thinking he was using a long, long lens so the lion was much further away than he appears. I researched his escape before I posted the photo. I wanted to be certain the lion was not harmed. He was only following his instincts.
