@geezerette  Thank you for clearing that up for me

Nancy Hornbeck, a former QVC host, is now working with linens. She was a wonderful host and delightful person. IIRC Nancy went back to school for her certificates in Diamonds and Colored Gems! She was fascinating when talking about various stones and her love of how they were set in jewelry. She and Pat work together so well. It's delightful to see her on air again! Although it took a couple of times to recognize her with the gray in her hair. Times have changed but she's still the same kind person!

How long does one get off for traveling? She went to Spain in October. Something doesn't quite add up.

Nancy Yoon loved to "mention" her trips numerous times taken over a two year period while a new host at QVC (Europe, Spain, many weekends in NYC as recently as April & May 2024). For a host who fell far behind her two partners in their training class (Steve Doss and Stacy), Nancy never seemed too concerned about learning the ropes of hosting. She tried many various gimmicks, yet didn't work on the basics taught.

My heart fell for her when she tried a Livesteam after several days of advertising her debut as a Livesteam host. Sadly, no one showed up to speak to her. The empty on-air attempt was met with silence from zero viewers participating, which spoke volumes of her lack of customer following.
Don't know if QVC decided a Livestream would not be tried again or if Nancy refused to try again.

Her two years were similar attempts with trying different things as she was tutored by various hosts. She'd copy each host without finding her own style of selling, speaking, dressing, or a nitche at QVC. It was strange going when customers didn't know the personality behind the host for so long!

Today Nancy Yoon remains a stranger to everyone, having never made sincere contact. It's been a weird time as she smiled and gave us a "scripted response" about a simple life and several previous jobs in various places, but didn't have the ambition to set goals or achieve a place of her own at QVC.

Her family never visited her in two years and she never returned to CA to visit them.  Very strange indeed. Friends? IDK. She didn't mention any. She has mentioned a desire to live in Paris several times or LA also. Could she be very unhappy with her current life?

Or is she waiting for Disability to approve her claim (now that she seems to be on medical leave)? IDK. Surprised she's still an employee.

Does she disclose all that you have mentioned in a sales presentation? If so, you must watch all of them.

@BirkiLady  - I thought I read on the forum that she was not on medical leave?  It does seem odd that she's out for over a month now.

I don't watch QVC, but do stream it late at night. Nancy didn't seem to have a regular schedule and was on erratically, but QVC seemed to place her on air during the late-nite hours (after midnight).

Yes. Nancy mentioned traveling, her mother (most shows), her dad and siblings periodically, dog, new condo, black as a favorite color, pictures of condo interior, shoe collection, bought many QVC clothes, gloss over previous positions, and more!

All of this to make a point in her sales pitch, but I'm not sure she ever got to that point on her presentations! Her delivery was unprofessional; often spent interrupting her guests and herself. She often preferred to chat with her Director, rather than sell product to customers. Her manner of hosting was so unusual and strange that it was tempting to watch for the humor of whatever happened due to what she would do (or not do) next. There were blank air times which were really odd.

So many more, but it was late at night and I was half a sleep. I don't remember all the strange things that occured during Nancy's two years on air at QVC. She simply did not have the "it" qualities for a host position. She thought she was terrific. Smiley Surprised

MIA for sure!

Last I knew she had returned from "spending time NYC" with husband and was hosting a food show. Nancy was eating, eating, eating while talking and interrupting. She insisted her husband join her on camera to eat during the end of the show. It was a strange idea, but not surprising since she'd been talking to him throughout the program.
