How about putting a peppermint stick in a large dill pickle and sucking 'til the cows came home?

@SoX  when very young, I would get an orange in my Christmas stocking; broke off a candy cane and put in the orange and use it as a straw after some sucking work!  That to me was the best part of Christmas, that orange and candy cane!

How about the ceramic Christmas trees that our aunties made...my aunt Pete made those trees in white and green, fired them in her kiln, decorated and gave them as gifts to everyone.  These nostalgic trees have been resurrected about 4 yrs ago by Mr. Christmas, but they are not half as great as the ones our aunties made.....

Quill Pen  (I used this when I went to grade school)  Only the ones we used had the actual feather tip and needed to be sharpened from time to time until we needed to find a new one.

pagers

OMG - for years and years I had to carry a pager for my job. There are no words to describe how much I hated that thing. My happiest day was when I retired and turned that baby in.

@ScarletDove My MIL made one, but I don't know where it went. A few years ago, my son bought me an authentic Atlantic ceramic Christmas tree on eBay. I LOVE it! He bought a small one too. Didn't spend much more than the Mr. Christmas price - because the seller was local, and he picked it up.
