Typewriters and pay phones....  While traveling recently, we stopped at a rest-stop area where there was actually a pay phone stand.  My 5-year old grandchild looked and it and said "What is that?".  I then realized that was his first time to see a pay phone!

Have you all seen the video going around on FB with the kids trying to figure out how to use a desk top rotary phone?  Hysterical.

Poor Boy Sweaters

Angola  Sweaters

Fish Net Stockings

Squash Heels

Slam Books (passed and slammed when the teacher came by)

I had a 6th grade teacher tell me my handwriting would never make it. We got grades in Penmanship and now it is rarely taught and called Cursive? I saw her while in college and wanted to tell her off. I started printing after that and only write my signature.

Fountain pens. Remember when Shaffers came out with the ink cartridge, before there were ballpoint pens?  I'd rather had a fountain pen, than a ball point any day

Prickly, brush hair rollers with pink toothpick like “sticks” to hold them in place. And “spit curls” taped to the sides of your face with pink tape while sleeping. The price of beauty! 😉

Secretaries taking dictation in shorthand. It was called stenography.

In my uncle's neighborhood in New Jersey, every weekend in the summer, a truck would come that had a ride on the back of it (like a whip, small carousel,  and I think a ferris wheel) and we'd pay for a ride and got to choose a small prize, like a piece of Bazooka bubble gum, when we got off.  I've talked to so many people and even in NJ, people have never heard of this. Did anyone else ever go on one of these rides?
