Some friends and I were just talking about this.....how we road our bikes far away from home ---went everywhere and we didnt even where a helmet.... Went to city swimming pools without an adult, walked to neighborhood movie theaters at night...etc etc.....And simply playing OUTSIDE which has almost become an extinct activity unless your involved in some kind of organized sports league...........

And your right about the street lights when they came on, and parents said time to come in and we begged for "just 15 more minutes"..............

Radiators that we sat on to warm us.

A crossing guard for the railroad tracks we had to cross on our way to school.

My fathers whistle when it was time to go home.
