Today has really been nice. We were surprised with a free breakfast from an acquaintance, we have become friendly with at our neighborhood diner

A waitress gave us a lovely card, with a nice message of friendship inside

It has put me in such a good mood. The best gifts are ones you least expect

I got a package from Harry and David yesterday, and it was completely unexpected.Every yeah I send a wreath to an aunt and uncle, we are not at all close, and I do it mostly for my parents , who are gone now. I truly have never expected anything in return, but when I got the package of goodies, I was surprised and touched.🎄

I got an unexpected phone call from an elderly lady friend from our church back north. She was not able to send me a Christmas card this year due to disabilities, but called. We had a nice chat. I'm so happy she is still alive, and remembered me.

That is nice. I haven't had any surprises lately. In the past couple months I've had the car in front of me at Starbucks buy my coffee twice.

My surprise was the same...a lovely unexpected call from an old friend I had been out of touch with for many years. As often is the case with dear friends..it was like no time had passed, and we had a long and wonderful talk. It was a bright spot in my holiday!

My son surprised me that he is coming both Christmas Eve and Christmas. He has a very busy job and life, so my husband and I are really thrilled. He's one of those one in a million sons.....

Our daughter who lives out of state told us they have purchased a vacation home about 30 miles from us! So now we will get to see more of her and her family without flying or driving about 1800 miles!! We are so happy for them that they can do that!!
