I haven't heard anything but my sheltie has.   His reaction is to bark non-stop.   He is most unhappy to be locked in the house.

Wooo Hooo and Great Googlies, it is 2017.

Bang bang and bang some more! I have chased the old out, let the new in, eatend grapes, greeted my first footer and given the dogs their special chews. My hoppin john, cornbread, greens, ham and soup are ready. Trash is out and laundry is done so I am all in!

My wish for all is a healthy and happy new year. Make each day count.

fireworks in downtown baltimore and i can hear some in the suburbs......no pot banging for me.

@sunshine45, my 88 year old mother grew up in Baltimore. She loves to tell about how the whole neighborhood would be out banging pots and lids at midnight on NYE.  It must be a Baltimore tradition.

LOTS of row houses in baltimore.......even more years ago. i bet that was A LOT of banging.

if she lived in one of the row houses, then she probably remembers sitting on the stoops in front of the houses and watching the neighbors go by, lexington market, ft mchenry, south baltimore, fells point, tiny alleys in between the sets of row homes, and lots of close, friendly neighbors who looked out for each other. it was not uncommon to have your relatives living on the same street as you or pretty close by. oh, and HON was and still is a term of endearment.
