Cooper's little head was over the top of the carseat from what I heard and also about six inches from his (I use the term loosely) ""dad"".

First of all, when is it acceptable to leave a child in a car alone for any reason, no matter what the weather? Kidnapping, car jacking and any number of things could happen.
And as far as the car seat, I think this couple is nuts. It seems the more they talk, the bigger the hole they dig for themselves. They are beyond stupid. The mother sat in court like she lost a pet ferret or something. Don't relatives and people they know wonder about them? They both should have been sobbing uncontrollably just listening to the detective giving the horrid details. I just don't get it.
I cannot get into my hot car lately without thinking of that poor child. Just this morning coming out of the supermarket I thought of it. I hope those two idiots get what is coming to them.

Here is what her mother had to say:
When reunited with her husband at police headquarters after he had been charged with murder, Leanna Harris asked him: 'Did you say too much?' according to Stoddard.
When she called home June 18 with the grim news of Cooper’s death, her mother could be overheard on the phone saying: ‘Why aren’t you crying? Why aren’t you reacting?’
Her response, according to Stoddard: ‘I must be in shock.’

I know what you mean. I was expecting, almost due when Susan Smith drowned her two baby boys strapped in their car seats . . . and then later after daughter was born . . . throughout the publicity of the trial . . . when I'd wash her hair . . . even shielding her eyes and her face when rinsing out the shampoo and how a baby reacts to water on their heads . . . I couldn't get the thought of those poor baby boys out of my head.
I hope both the parents fry in the electric chair OR get a big fat needle in their veins while strapped to a gurney. I think she is as guilty as he is.

This is what the mom said at Cooper's funeral..........one very telling sentence........
“I miss him with all of my heart. Would I bring him back? No. To bring him back into this broken world would be selfish,” she said.
