Re: NOT THRILLED WITH YANKEE CANDLES

I used to think I liked Yankee Candles (soot city), but that was until I found out about PartyLite.

Love their candles and I buy them on ebay. I have hundreds. Love them unlit and lit.

Yankee and B&BW and most other brands give me a raspy feeling in my throat when burning.

I think Yankee has gone down hill in the past couple of years. Their candles don't have the powerful scent they once did.

Re: NOT THRILLED WITH YANKEE CANDLES

Votives do not give off much scent. I've tried them from many candle companies. That's why I only buy jar candles.

Partylites have nice scent but the soot is awful.

I burn Yankees with the Illuma Lid covers and get no soot at all. I have my favorites that have nice scent throw.

BBW candles also have great scent but terrible soot. I melt those instead of burn them.

I may be in the minority, but I like Glade and Fabreeze candles (love the ones with the Gain scent). They are fairly inexpensive and have a great scent that seems to last until the candle is totally burned. I can often find the Glade candles 2/$5.00 or the Fabreeze for $3-$4 dollars. When I find them on sale, I stock up. Just can't see spending upwards of $18.00 for a "name" candle when I can get the others who do the job for so much less.

I also like to put my candles on a coffee cup warmer because of the cats.

Very clever! I never buy candles b/c of the cats - I never thought of warming them with a coffee cup warmer{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Re: NOT THRILLED WITH YANKEE CANDLES

I don't buy YC's anymore. They give off so much soot--moreso than other candles. Plus, I don't think the scent throw is strong. I like strong scents. I burn Woodwick or BBW or Tyler. Tyler probably have the best scent, and they are cleaner burning. YC's ruined my carpet around my heat/air vents. There was a ton of soot from burning YC's. My HVAC guy told me YC are the worst, and they are. I only burn their tarts. Some of their tart scents give off a decent throw, and others don't.

YC's Wallflower type plus ins are really nice though and better than BBW.

Try Tyler!

I like Pure Integrity. It is local, but they have a website.

I have seen other posters comment on how nice their candles are. Pumpkin Pie is my favorite...Fruit Slices in the summer.

Great company and their candles are very nicely scented without being over the top. They burn really nicely and hardly any soot-they are 100% soy.

Re: NOT THRILLED WITH YANKEE CANDLES

I have been disappointed in Yankee candles for quite sometime. They don't seem to be as strong as they once were.
