NC in February

For the first time in 9 years, hubby and I are going on holiday - after his recent health scare, it's about time! We have dogs and horses and land and getting away is almost impossible, but my parents are going to visit and animal sit for us while we go away :-)

Anyway, we are going to drive to Charlotte in NC to visit my cousin for a few days, and we want to spend an extra 4 or 5 days around that area, but not staying with her her. We were thinking of a couple of days in Asheville and at Biltmore, and then a couple of days at Blowing Rock. Does anyone have any thoughts on/knowledge of those places? Anywhere else you'd recommend within 2 hours or so of Charlotte where we could spend a couple of days?

Also, from what I can tell the weather is usually in the 50s during the day and low 30s during the night at that time of year. Is that right? Is snow likely/possible?
