@Oznell Thanks so much!

@Tinkrbl44 Yes a very fresh scent!!  One of the things a guide told us on a walk in Denali was to take a deep breath since the air was pollution free.

@jlkz Would love to say hi if we happen to meet at Peddler's Village! Smiley Happy

@haddon9   Thanks so much for sharing your fun trip...Pictures, too!!!!

Alaska was on our bucket list, but decided our "last big travel" would be a week in Paris in 2024.  I think it was too much walking for DH, but we still enjoyed the museums we loved on former trips and the Bistros.

Yes, laundry, packing and unpacking and the time change. No more long distance traveling now.

@Caaareful Shopper Thanks so much!

@Shanus I think this is the last "big" multi week trip for me.  I will continue to try and go places for about a week or so but two weeks is too long for me now. There are places that I would have liked to go to but they are just too far like Japan, Australia or New Zealand.

I'm still able to travel so I want to go while I can.  We have a trip scheduled for Portugal & Spain next year for 8 days. At some point in the not too distant future I know that it will end and I just won't be able to deal with the physical part of travel.

Paris sounds wonderful but it is a lot of walking!  I was there back in 2014 on a Rhone River trip which then took us via train to Paris but we only spent two days there.  I would love to go back!

I did a similar trip but in reverse.  Absolutely loved it.  Weather was cool and sometimes rainy, but you make the most of it.  I highly recommend seeing Alaska, but you must do all the side trips.  I know people who never left the ship and didn't have a good thing to say about the state.  Well, what do you expect if you didn't experience it???  I'm an animal lover, so the wildlife was fascinating, but my favorite was the seeing the sled dogs.

@haddon9  WOW!! What an amazing trip! The pictures are breathtaking. What views, so picturesque! It sounds like you had a great time in spite of the chilly weather. It's also lovely to see you as well. Happy belated birthday! đź’•

We sailed on the Sun Princess but  I don't think that ship goes to Alaska any more only to the Caribbean.

Of course, my trip was before cell phones so  I had to use a real camera!  But  I was able to capture a lot of scenery in a panoramic view.

Thanks for bringing back a lot of wonderful memories of a special trip.

I can't help wondering if I was on that same ship.  It's been over 3 decades, so the only thing I recall was that there was a Sun Princess, a Sky, and a Sea, and I cruised on two of them back in the day.

For me, as someone who doesn't like crowds, those ginormous ships now wouldn't appeal to me.  Back when I was cruising they just held several hundred and now they look like entire cities.  Smiley Very Happy

@CANDLEQUEEN Thank you!  I hope you can go sometime!

@Jaspersmom I can't imagine going on a cruise and never getting off to explore unless you have some medical reason not to.  Many of the people we met all loved it!

We did see a few whales, moose and bald eagles.  I only saw a few bears at the animal rescue.
