Unfortunately I have to send the wig back.  I will explain tomorrow . . . just spent four hours on phone with Dell tech, as I was hit with malware and several other viruses.

I'm disappointed and upset because they do not refund, only get an exchange or a store credit.

Sorry it did not work out. Very few stores refund or exchange a wig. In some ways, it is a good thing and protection from receiving a wig that someone else wore. Any wig I have ever bought in retail says final sale.

Sorry @LilacTree you're experiencing computer problems. Hope you can get it straightened out..

@Trinity11

Yes, I did . . . I should say "we" did, as the Dell tech took control of my computer.  Four hours on Wednesday, and another hour yesterday.  I don't know how I got all of this malware but something hit me hard.  It's running fine now.

I'm wondering if I should switch from Kaspersky to a different virus protection program, but the tech said it probably wouldn't make a difference because the trolls are way ahead of our ability to block them.  I do virus checks every few days and Kaspersky always comes back with clean scans.  There was so much junk in my registry it took hours to get it all out.  I almost don't want to go online anymore.  Ugh!!

Facebook, Twitter and that ilk do more harm than good and I'm thinking of deleting my Facebook account.  I don't have Twitter or any of the others.

Hi @LilacTree. I have never had any trouble with Facebook. Without it, I would not get to see my children very often. (Busy lives) So it is mandatory I keep it. So far so good, though.

I have gotten viruses from Yahoo of all places. They have these news stories and quite a few times I have clicked on the links and forgotten I shouldn't. Also I got a virus from a link to a Soap Opera site here. It took my son an hour to fix things.

Hope all is resolved...

@Trinity11

Same reason I keep it.  A lot of history on there.

@LilacTreeDo you know that wigs can be adjusted for size?  When they are packed and shipped, they are on the smallest setting.

turn your wig inside out and look for tabs that are usually placed on the nape or just behind the ears.  Pull up on the the strip tabs that are closed with Velcro and adjust them by moving them to a different spot. You can play around until you get the size you need.

the nurse at the school where I volunteer is a chemo patient.  She was getting headaches from her new wig because she didn’t know it could  be adjusted to a bigger size and she has been wearing wigs for years.

Oh,you might want to buy some Roux Fancifull and put some in a spray bottle.  You can spray this on the wig to calm down the blue color.  Sweet Cream would be nice, it’s a soft warm color that I think would look great on you.  There are other colors as well, but do not use a white or it will just deposit more blue.

The Roux color will rinse right out and is not pernmanent so you can experiment.

I hope this helps.

@Carmie

I did know that, Carmie, because I have watched the demos on the Q.  I extended it as far as I could without damaging the wig.  And, as I said, it's too short in the back, I liked the "fringy" look at the nape of the neck.  I have a birthmark back there that I have always kept covered by my hair.

I have already packaged up the wig (perfectly) to send back.  My daughter will mail it this weekend.

Thank you so much for your suggestions though!

Lilac Tree, I too have a birthmark at the nape of my neck, it is red and years ago after sitting under a dryer hair stylists thought the dryer was too hot and burned my neck.  I remember how I had to say no, it is a birthmark that gets more red under the dryer.  Crazy!!!!  Hope you eventually find the perfect wig.

I'm too used to the white.  There are not very many white wigs to be had online, believe it or not.  They are more "light gray" which is too dark gray for my white skin.  When I saw this in white, it was a no brainer.

The blonde is beautiful though.  These are Raquel Welch wigs.

          @LilacTree,

              That's great to know, Lilac Tree.

 I have never owned or worn a wig, but thought -since- my hair is so thick, has to have a trim every three weeks, can not get to my hair dresser when needed, then maybe..just may 'be' VERY interested in a wig for special occasions.

              AND! Definitely a Raquel Welch style.

I had not seen one presentation shown here, mainly due to limited time and very little viewing anything on TV.

 >If on only qvc's selection', here, then I would take a chance and purchase.

         "Wondering though if HOT after so many hours"?

 Woman Surprised I know absolutely ZERO in reference to wigs.

Did you buy one or have you worn these ( particularly RW's) at other times before this topic came up this month?

Having thick, mid- long length hair can be a hassle keeping my way; bouncy and wispy..the perfect look for me.

I can and often do wear it up with a lot of activity on the side to top.

"Always thought that a woman's hair gives her that polished best described identity". "I have always been a fuss busy girl to lady when it comes to my hair". Very interesting.

 Woman Happy Can't wait. Oh, the time it will SAVE me, just for the meetings I attend, alone!

      Sending happy sincere thoughts to you today, with many hugs.

I don't know if you read the rest of this thread, but I had to send the wig back as it did not fit.  I still haven't received a confirmation from them, and have to wait until tomorrow to call them AGAIN.  Thing is it was $125 and they don't give refunds for wigs . . . only a store credit.

I used to have really dark thick Italian hair, but I have been losing it slowly over the years due to my autoimmune issues and the meds (prednisone).  Now it's very thin, obviously white (which I like).  So I have to get another type of wig from them and they do carry Raquel Welch wigs.

I have never worn a wig before either.

Happy thoughts back, NAES.

No, unfortunately I (sometimes) usually brief through, reading ONLY a 'certain' friend, then continue on.

What a mere small frustration that can be easily changed.  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely a yes.

 It has to be..HAS TO BE.. almost impossible to purchase, by surmising, a perfect 'fit'.

Please get back when you DO reach that plateau when you receive the correct fit.

There is a lady in my teaching support class whom had bought (had it fitted on location) a beautiful wig.

I could 'not tell', not even by touching, that this wig was made of any synthetic material.

Her cost was $400.00.

She can wash and dry (with a wig head shaped support) and toss around to style..just that easy.

Her reasoning, or matter of fact, for the purchase was exactly as yours: years of medication /prednisone/ potent steroid in hospital injections for a progressing back impingement *_compression*_.

She is a beautiful woman, possibly at age 60-65+, and I had seen photos of her from only 9 years ago with long wavy gorgeous strawberry blond full head of hair. Her hair was that of a hair model, as I can remember.

If not mistaken, the place of business was called Illusions ] - - dealt only in the science of Professional fitting, styling -after the sale.

 You may be surprised, as I was, how many women, now, choose a wig as a typical accessory.

 I will (hopefully) read back when the too small wig is changed, if so desired.

 Oh, another question: the boots you had purchased from qvc 3 years ago, have you had a chance to wear those as thought, often for winter months?

That year was when you fractured your ankle while turning in bed.

  Haaaaaaaa, " welllll, you did tell me last June that my memory will hold me in good stead".

         ``So I ask! Woman Frustrated YES~! Fractured ankle / incorrect fit / RV wig.``

                   Heart      Heart   Heart and hugs.

I've been wondering about something. Would it be good to wear a wig if your hair is thinning? Would it constrict blood flow to the scalp? Would it rub or pull at the hair at the root?

What makes me wonder about this is how a couple of men in my family have sparce hair on their calves. The guys have hair, short though as it's regrowth as if they'd shaved.

They tell me it's just from their jeans rubbing there. They have large muscular calves that do bulge out, but they don't wear their jeans tight or anything. The hair just gets rubbed out at the largest part of the calf.

I've never worn a wig, so I have no idea what it feels like, or if what I said above would be a problem.

I do, however have a 'bad hair day hat' I pull on in an emergency.  Woman Wink

           @garmer

              I have 2 of those emergency caps / hats, too. I always reach for anyone handy, especially wearing in the winter, (rain and snow).

  Having, like you, never worn a wig, I do not believe a wig would cut of circulation, or hurt the root growth in any way.

For myself, I wouldn't be wearing 'IT' that long...just on days when I have an app't / did not meet my hair wizard or a DIY style.

I have always heard that the -(especially Navy sailors) pants that is required possibly the dress ones, are WOOL!

And the wool will slowly shave -_SHAVE_ the hair to a slick bare leg.

                          Just a bit of factual information~!

May want to ask if ever in the military service with particular dress code fabrics. Definitely ( I have heard) has something to do with continuous wearing?

  I have the least amount of knowledge about jeans, but do know my husband and son wear jeans throughout the year -almost every day..No losing leg hair with either.

   INTERESTING question, THOUGH,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Woman Surprised

  Let me know when you find out....Thank you, NAES
