We got two this week!  I bought one Saturday, and my SO, he stopped and got one on Saturday, too!  Cut the first one, almost gone.  I’d gladly share. There were lots in the stores on Saturday.  Cold and crisp, and eating a lot of it in this heat!  We are East Coast (SW PA). Doesn’t seem to be a shortage here (Yet!). 

Probably lots of people wanting a cold treat.  So refreshing!

It's probably because it's been so incredibly hot and watermelon is so refreshing and delicious.  A lot of people are grilling it now too.

I bought 2 watermelons in June for $8.99 each; price now is $9.99.   I won't pay that price.

I'm in the mid-Atlantic area and my Trader Joe's has plenty.  In fact, they were just wheeling a bunch more out when I was there this morning.  $5.99.  Not the large, seeded size. The smaller seedless,
