In the Miami area, a group of children threw a beautiful little shih tzu dog into a canal. A man saw it happen, and without thinking of his own safety, he jumped into the canal to save the little dog!

Thank God he managed to save her, although she was injured. He took her to a vet and they have been working on her, trying to make her well again. She is around 3 years old and he named her Mia.

The vet bills are mounting, and she needs surgery on her injured leg, but an infection has set in, and they had to postpone the surgery. The man, who never had a dog and is very macho, has fallen totally in love with the sweet little dog, and while she is waiting for the surgery, he carries her around in his arms and hugs her!

They showed it on my local news and it brought tears to my eyes. She is the sweetest little dog. He risked his life for her.

What is happening to so many children today? Why have some of them become so callous and totally without any compassion or caring? Is it because of all the violent video games, and so many tv shows that show violence and crimes?

There was a rash of burgluries, recently, in the parking lot of a Toys R Us store. The police set up a surveillance team and were determined to catch the criminals. It turned out to be 11 year old boys!

I think that they should start teaching compassion and empathy in schools, from a very young age. Anyway, this wonderful man is my new hero!
